The Academy of Modern Music has developed a syllabus designed to examine students playing popular music. The syllabus is known as “Sounds Great”. Exams are available for Piano, Guitar and Singing. At launch, the Initial Grade and Grades 1, 2 and 3 will be offered with further grades becoming available at a later stage.
One of the advantages of the syllabus is that it will provide an overlap of songs so that individual performers can form a group or band at a later stage and will already have studied some of the same music.
